The item enables to choose the data set with comparable concentration units.
Ambient air sampled by passive air samplers. The samplers are usually exposed for 1 or 3 months; the concentration level measured corresponds to the sampling duration. Information about the sampling duration is always required.
Ambient air sampled by active air samplers (HiVol, LowVol) and also passive sampling results that were recalculated per cubic meter to allow mutual comparability of the air-active and air-passive data.
Sampling of wet atmospheric deposition.
Sampling of mix atmospheric deposition.
Data from various consumer products analyses.
Breast milk samples from all over the world have been analyzed for POPs (PCBs, PCDD/PCDFs, dl-PCBs, HBCDs and PBBs) since 1987. First, sampling was organized by WHO only (first to third round), then collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has begun. Three different data types are included in GENASIS: individual, pooled and spatially aggregated. Sampling has been performed in more than 70 countries.
Data that were sampled in the indoor environment.
Entire plants or only their parts, manually sampled.
Bed and stratified sediment that can be separated into two parts – solid fraction and pore water. Sludge from WWTP is included in this matrix as well.
Soil samples divided according to the soil horizon or the sampling depth.
Water sampled using active or passive samplers. Passive sampling concentrations are included only if the results were recalculated to cubic meter.
POPs data prevail in the GENASIS database; however, additional parameter groups are included, such as heavy metals, microbiological, physical-chemical or toxicological parameters.
