Joint RECETOX and IBA MU work awarded at ISESS 2013
10th year of the traditional Symposium on Environmental Informatics, ISESS 2013 was held in Neusiedl am See, Austria on 9-11 October 2013. Masaryk University contributed significantly to both the organization of the conference and the conference programme. The latter featured lectures on information systems GENASIS (Global Environmental Assessment Information System) and GMP DWH (Global Monitoring Plan Data Warehouse).
Five presentations on processing of global environmental data, their analysis and public presentation through modern web technologies were held in the „Information Tools for Global Environmental Assessment“ section. Two of the submissions were awarded as best paper (L. Dušek et al.: Estimating Impacts of Environmental Interventions in Monitoring Programs Requires Conceptual Data Models and Robust Statistical Processing) and best student paper (R. Hůlek et al.: GENASIS System Architecture on the Way from Environmental Data Repository towards a Research Infrastructure).
The ISESS 2013 conference proceedings have been published as „Environmental Software Systems: Fostering Information Sharing“ by Springer in the book series „IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology“. The book is available in both printed and online form.
