The GENASIS and GMP DWH systems were presented at the Copernicus conference

Fourth year of the Czech Copernicus national user conference was held on 12–13 May 2015 in Prague. The section “GEO/GEOSS – an opportunity for the Czech Republic“ included, among others, a presentation by Jakub Gregor and Richard Hůlek (RECETOX / IBA MU) entitled “System for the collection and visualization of data of the Stockholm Convention’s Global Monitoring Plan – Czech contribution to GEOSS”. The speakers introduced the GENASIS system as the initial platform and the main data source for the global information system on persistent organic pollutants (GMP Data Warehouse).

Although the conference was primarily focused on processing the satellite and Earth remote sensing data, the presentation attracted auditorium’s attention as one of a few real Czech contributions to GEOSS (Global Earth Observation System of Systems). GENASIS plays an important role in this respect, because it is the largest and the most comprehensive source of global data on air-passive monitoring, particularly due to the monitoring programmes GAPS (run by Environment Canada) and MONET (run by RECETOX).
