Occurrence, source apportionment and toxicity assessment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in surface sediments of Chaohu, one of the most polluted lakes in China
Ji-Zhong Wang, Kai Zhang, Bo Liang and Eddy Y. Zeng
- In order to evaluate the effect of local anthropogenic activities on Chaohu Lake, one of the most eutrophicated lakes in China, surface sediments have been collected from the whole lake with 0.05 × 0.05 degree latitude/longitude resolution and in the estuaries of three main inflowing rivers.
Sources of organochlorine pesticides in air in an urban Mediterranean environment: volatilisation from soil
Gerhard Lammel, Jana Klánová, Ljiljana Erić, Predrag Ilić, Jiří Kohoutek and Igor Kovacić
- Organochlorine pesticide (OCP) cycling was studied in the area of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, over 3 days in summer with high temporal (4 h-means) and spatial (3 sites distanced 3-6 km) resolutions.
Impact of a NO2-regenerated diesel particulate filter on PAH and NPAH emissions from an EURO IV heavy duty engine
Matteo Carrara and Reinhard Niessner
- In this study the emissions of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and their nitro-derivates (NPAH) from a modern heavy duty engine were analysed. Focus was on the effects of the aftertreatment system.
Distribution and health-risk of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soils at a coking plant
Wanhui Zhang, Chaohai Wei, Chunhua Feng, Zhe Yu, Man Ren, Bo Yan, Pingan Peng and Jiamo Fu
- Nineteen soil samples were collected in and around Songshan coking plant in Guangdong province of China and analyzed for eighteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
